Which meals are included into Sapsan train tickets?

  • Basic and Economy Class: Meals are not included in ticket price but can be purchased onboard. Order dishes to your seat, or visit the bistro car. Breakfast, lunch and dinner offered, as well as vegetarian and children’s options.
  • Economy+ Class: A complimentary meal is included in your ticket price and delivered to your seat. This includes a sandwich, snack, cold drink and hot beverage of your choice.
  • Dining Class: Passengers are allocated a table in the bistro car for the journey’s duration. Ticket price includes a deposit of 2000r ($32) to spend on food and drink during the journey. The bistro car offers many dishes from a variety of cuisines.
  • Business Class: A hot meal is provided as part of ticket price. Passengers may choose one of three set menus at breakfast or lunch. Each set menu includes a 3-course meal, with an alcoholic drink at lunch.
  • First Class: A hot meal is included in ticket price. Depending on time of day, passengers may select one of three breakfast, lunch, or dinner set menus. Each contains a 3-course meal, and dinner is served with an alcoholic drink.

The Sapsan Train travels between St Petersburg and Moscow in a mere 3 hours and 30 minutes, a modern and high-quality service perfect for tourists and people on business alike. Meals in Basic and Economy Class of Sapsan Train

Basic and Economy Class do not include any meals as part of the ticket price, but meals can be purchased onboard. Similar to airline travel, passengers will receive an onboard magazine containing a menu and may order meals to be delivered to their seat. There are a large range of dishes available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as vegetarian and children’s options.

Alternatively, passengers may visit the bistro car. Some seats in the bistro car are sold in advance as 'Dining Class' tickets, but some are kept vacant for other passengers. The bistro car menu is slightly larger than the magazine menu.

In both menus, breakfasts range from $2.40 - $5.90, salads and sandwiches $2.90 - $8, mains $5.60 - $9.90, and soft drinks $1.60 - $4.

Meals in Economy+ Class of Sapsan Train 

Passengers travelling in Economy+ Class are provided with a complimentary meal as part of their ticket price, which is delivered to their seat by Sapsan’s train attendants.

This meal includes:

Croissant with chicken and salad
A selection of fruit and nut snacks
Bottle of still or sparkling water
Tea or coffee

Sapsan Dining Class (Bistro Car) Menu

Passengers with a Dining Class ticket will be allocated a table in Sapsan’s bistro car for the duration of their journey. The Dining Class ticket price includes a deposit of 2000 roubles (approximately $32) which can be spent on food and drink during the journey.

The bistro menu offers a large number of dishes from a variety of cuisines. Passengers may order pancakes, salads, soups, sandwiches, hot dishes and desserts, as well as soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. The bistro car menu also offers signature dishes and the ‘dish of the month’.

Sapsan Business Class Menu

For those travelling in Business Class, a hot meal is provided as part of the ticket price. Depending on the time of day, passengers may choose from one of three set menus at breakfast or lunch.

For breakfast, served until 10:59, you may opt for:

1. Cheese appetizer with salad
Pancakes with cottage cheese, and raspberry and vanilla sauces
Cannoli

2. An assortment of vegetables
Omelette with bacon
Italian Charlotte cake

3. Tongue with creamy horseradish
Oatmeal porridge with jam
Dessert with fruit and chia seeds

For lunch, served from 11:00 onwards:

1. Stolichny Salad
Georgian-style chicken with wild rice

2. Baked ham on romaine lettuce with ranch dressing
Munich-style pork with fried potatoes

3. Fish appetizer
Russian-style cod

You may also select a dessert, either Ptichye Moloko cake or Oriental Delight cake, and a
tea/soft drink/coffee or white wine/red wine/beer.

Sapsan First Class Menu

First Class ticket holders are entitled to a hot meal as part of their ticket price. Depending on the time of travel, passengers may choose a set menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

For breakfast, served until 10:59:

1. Cheese appetizer with salad
Cottage cheese muffin with raspberry sauce and chia seeds
Cake ‘Inspiration’

2. Chicken salad with vegetables and mini mozzarella
Egg-white omelette with pork sausages and cheese
Brownie

3. Waldorf salad with beef

For lunch, served between 11:00 and 18:59:
